Educational affairs

One of TIRO’s key roles is to look after the interests of engineering students. In concrete terms, this means continuous cooperation with TAMK, the student union Tamko and the engineering clubs to improve the quality of education and correct any shortcomings. We are supported by the national engineering students’ union and the engineering union.

Advocacy is carried out according to the needs of our members. TIRO conducts member surveys during the year and collects feedback from students, which is used to organize meetings with the management of the competence unit, among other things. TIRO’s board member in charge of social and educational affairs is responsible for coordinating lobbying activities within TIRO.

HOW DO YOU INFLUENCE YOUR OWN EDUCATION AND WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ENCOUNTER A PROBLEM?

You can influence the quality and content of your education by carefully answering the course and annual feedback surveys. By giving feedback on both the good and the things that need improvement, you can help to ensure that the practices that are already working are maintained and that those that need improvement are recognized. You can also give feedback directly to the teacher during the course, so that you can react more quickly.

If you are facing challenges in your studies, for example in relation to assessments, the quality and delivery of teaching, or even internships, you can have a low-threshold contact with TIRO and the TIRO’s board member in charge of social and educational affairs. We will help you to resolve your case all the way!
